Bordeaux, S'il vous plaît!

Remember how I mentioned that I would love to became an au pair in France? Well, in July, I filled out my application at the Student Agency and hoped, that some time in Fall I would be moving to France. When I came back from Turkey, I checked my e-mail address, as usual, and I checked the spam e-mails, as I do once a week or so. And guess what I found there! An e-mail from Student Agency saying that they found me a host family. The best part is - they live in Bordeaux! I didn't expect things to go so fast...that I realized I can't go! I didn't have the money right away...I needed to sell my car as fast as possible...I was afraid it would take some time. So on Saturday night, I put my car on a website, with pictures and price and all and on Monday, my cute little Audi A3 was gone. It was a bittersweet moment. I wanted to sell her anyways, if I was going to move to France and leave my 16 years old car just standing at one place for a year, I don't thing she would cooperate with me when I came back. This way, somebody else (some nice girl) will take care of my baby. But I will miss her. She was my first car...yes, it is a SHE not IT, that's how much I loved her!
So now I can go to Bordeaux! I am buying my plane ticket tomorrow and I am leaving on the 5th of September! I am so excited to go to Bordeaux and take care of one 4 - year old and one 7 - year old children! It's a girl and a boy and the mom is preggos! She is expecting in the beginning of October!
Wish me luck :-)

Turkish Delights

Hi! This August, me and my cousin, Eva, went on a real vacation. By real I mean that we went to a travel agency, picked a hotel and they planned everything for us. It was our graduation present from our grandfather.
I personally wanted to see Marocco, but for some reason, my grandma thought it would be more dangerous than Turkey. So that is where we ended up!
We stayed at a hotel named Club Flora, in Gümbet, near Bodrum. It is in the south - eastern part of Turkey. It was a three star hotel and the room was plain, but nice. The only problem was that in Turkey, it is forbidden to flush the toilet paper!! So you have to throw it away in the garbage...eww!! I guess we broke the law (and maybe some pipes!) by not following this rule...
Anyways, the weather in Turkey is nice. Very hot, a little humid, but windy! Which feels good in the summer heat :-) The hotel pool was amazing...nice, cold, but not too much, and big. We stayed by the pool most of our time there...the sea was not so nice. A little dirty, plus the "beautiful, long and sandy beach" was about three metres wide and ten metres long, not sandy and not beautiful...which was a little disappointing :-( we went there only once...
We had an all - inclusive plan. Which means that - starting 8 AM and ending 11 PM  - we could eat and drink whatever we wanted and have as much of it as we wanted. I always managed to get up to catch the breakfast before they cleaned the tables and started serving lunch! Haha...the breakfast was amazing, wide selection of eggs, salamis, cereals, cheese, fruit and olives. The lunches and dinners were nice, too. Lots of veggies. I loved the veggies. But when it came to the meals itself - I wasn't that impressed. I liked it, but the variety was low...I mean - we had 14 different types of rice...and that was it. I love rice. But not twice or three times a day every day! And another downside to the eating part - there were always waiters taking away your used plates and glasses and cups, but what if I wanted to refill my glass with water? I had to take a new one...so, during one meal, I would use about five plates and glasses, because they would take it away from me even with some food left on it...they were so fast that you couldn't stop them! :D They would also start random conversations with you during your meal or sit right next to you...
The pool bar was amazing though...I have to admit, I had at least one beer a day and two to three coctails. I fell in love with gin and tonic...who would've known it is so good! My favorite drink now! Plus - one of the barmans was too cute to resist. His name was Firat...
Me and Eva, we tryed to work out almost every day. We wanted to try out this new program - the Bodyrock! It was INTENSE! But it felt good :)
In the evenings, we would sit at the pool bar or visit Bodrum. To get to Bodrum, we had to take the public transportation, which was AMAZING. We stood in front of the hotel and when the bus came (like every 5 minutes...) we just waved at the driver, he stopped, and then when we needed to get off, we pressed the STOP button and got out. It was cheap, too. One way was 1,50 euros. The buses were working up until 5 AM!

This picture was taken right after our Bodyrock work out :)

At the pool bar...

With the hotel's DJ Ozzy, who claimed to be my new boyfriend! :D

When in Lucern...

Hi! This is the first time me blogging from my cell phone, so please excuse the lack of pictures and the look of this post. I am visiting some friends of mine in Lucern, Switzerland, right now. Tonihgt we went to a special restaurant. We took the car and drove to Zurich, another suiss city. The name of the place is Blindekuh, which ( at least
I think so ) means Blind cow.
They only serve about two to three different meals and those are very expensive, too. What is it so special about this place, you may ask? You eat in a complete darkness. COMPLETE. You cannot see a thing in there. The waitresses are all blind. They help you get seated and they are always there if you need them, but everything else is up to you.
When we first got in, I thought I might get motion sick. But after a while, it all got better. I even did a good job eating my curry with veggies. But when the tiramisu came, I struggled a little. I had to use my hands. I also ordered coffee. When Sabina, our waitress, brought the cup to our table, I could not find it. It took me almost five minutes until my hands touched the hot coffee.
Filling up the glasses with water was also very interesting. You have to stick your finger inside the glass to feel the water level.
Overall it was a great experience. It is very interesting how all of the guests spoke so loud because they couldn't see each other... days like this make me realize how lucky I am and that we should be grateful for what we have.
